Drawing on the study of digital business module course, I have gained much knowledge on the use of digital technology on business and how it would affect the community.
In today’s age, digital business becomes part of people’s daily life, as well as e-commerce, play an essential role in digital marketing. E-commerce can be defined as buying and selling activity between businesses and consumers on the internet. By comparing the traditional marketing strategy to e-commerce, e-commerce provides more convenience and flexible service. For example, online website delivers information quickly from businesses to consumers; the information could be view by anyone around the world with digital devices. Moreover, digital marketing also closed the gap between businesses and the public. In the past, it is hard for businesses to communicate with the public whereas nowadays they can easily communicate and participate in companies’ social media accounts. Thus, companies could produce products that consumers prefer. AI and VR are two of the latest technology, AI helps the businesses to do big data calculation and simulation, while VR allows consumers to have a better understanding of the products. Although these technologies provide us with significant benefits, there are still many concerns follows. One of the major issues for e-commerce is the difficulties to control everything on the internet. Cyber-attacks and information leaks are the most common problems in digital business because the security is not appropriately maintained or cybercriminals crack the firewall.
While the companies focus on the development of e-business, they should take care of the social communities and seek for the sustainability of the environment. According to one of the articles from weekly reading “The circulate economy”, it inspires me that none of the resources is unlimited. Therefore, businesses should develop products that can be recycled and reused to reduce the waste and pollution human made and consumers should encourage themselves to purchase green and ethical products to make the world less polluted.
Having to learn the knowledge from this module help me to get on track with the digital business world, especially in digital marketing. This module helps me to understand digital marketing strategy and the weekly article allows me to understand the current situation of the digital business world. I have always been interested in digital marketing and I am looking forward to working in the digital marketing field.
